Description
Many acres of white and black spruce forests are inhabited in the Delta. The White Spruce (Picea Glauca) has been traditionally used by First Nations People for various purposes, including medicine and food.
The fresh growing tips offer a unique flavor to foods when they’re cooked. We offer dried spruce tips powdered, whole as well as spruce gum, the resin collected from the tree. This is usually tinctured with alcohol or oil to create various products. Spruce tips are collected in early spring and make a great flavoring for teas, baking, and even ice cream. They are rich in beneficial vitamins and minerals.
