Description
Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) is a low-calorie plant that grows abundantly in the Delta. Its traditional uses have been reducing cholesterol, heart health and the relief of diarrhea.
The leaves were traditionally smoked as tobacco and studies are being done in the treatment of pancreatic disorders. We offer bearberries, dried leaves and a ground mix for tea. Bearberry leaves are collected in late summer, once the berries have started to rippen.
