Le plantain est une excellente source alimentaire consomm\u00e9 frais. Riche en prot\u00e9ines, il contient de nombreuses vitamines et min\u00e9raux b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques et est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une plante m\u00e9dicinale. Il est utilis\u00e9 pour soulager les douleurs abdominales, les irritations de la peau, des cheveux, des os et des articulations, ainsi que pour soigner les piq\u00fbres d'insectes. Il soulage \u00e9galement les irritations dues aux br\u00fblures et aux allergies. On peut le boire en tisane, le m\u00e9langer \u00e0 des sauces ou des smoothies, ou l'infuser dans des huiles pour cr\u00e9er d'excellentes cr\u00e8mes m\u00e9dicinales.
